LSNY Events was created in 1991 by Michael Sage Schindler as a means to realize clients' dreams to experience something truly extraordinary at parties and special events.
Michael came to the special event arena by way of professional theater, tv and film. A gifted 3 sport athlete and #1 tennis player for his high school, Kung Fu practitioner, dancer and mime, he started acting when he was 16 years old, if you discount an award winning performance for BEST MOST RELUCTANTLY MADE UNWANTED KISS playing Prince Charming in Kindergarten, co-producing Woody Allen's "Don't Drink the Water" at his local theater company.
Always LOVING comedy and making people laugh, he followed that up by forming an Improvisational comedy group in high school called the JFK Raiders. One highlight of the guerilla style comedy was during lunch, Michael announcing an upcoming Pep Rally while standing on top of a cafeteria table calmly pouring a pint of milk over his head. This picture was saved for posterity in the yearbook while the smell of dried milk was etched forever in his nostrils.
He began working professionally each summer while getting his BFA in Theater at Ithaca College. Michael first professional acting experience was at the American Stage Festival in Milford, NH working alongside Broadway actors, and future stars:
Tony Award winner Michael Rupert, future Tony, Emmy, Golden Globe Award winner Christine Baranski, and future Obie Award winner Will Patton, (Remember the Titans most recently seen in Falling Skies).
Next summer Michael was at the Foundation Theater in NJ sharing the stage with Jude Ciccolella (24, Shawshank Redemption, Sin City) in a production of Scapino. Michael came to NYC after graduating was cast working with acclaimed actor William Fichtner (best known for Prison Break and Entourage, most recently seen in Elysium with Matt Damon and Jodi Foster) in his very first play in NY.
Eventually working off Broadway and on National Tours, his 3rd year in the NYC he was spotted during a national tour by someone in the events industry who recruited him for a theatrical style special event company in Long Island. Michael went on to create characters perform dance numbers and comically interact with guests for the next 5 years. He toured all over the country including Hawaii and Toronto. He adored getting paid making crowds of people happy and guests loved his unique brand of humor and unstoppable energy.
Using his dance, acting and improvisational skills, comedic ability and love of engaging with people, numerous guests would follow his lead on the dance floor. People would continue to join in and before long he was directing large crowds regularly. Not yet even on a microphone Michael discovered he could lead throngs of guests through spontaneous choreography like a Party Flash Mob he made up on the spot.
At one such party where this happened Michael had the AHA moment that with a microphone he could really create, reach out further and see how far he could take them.
So Michael went on to take the mic and MC mitzvahs, weddings, night clubs, parties, and corporate parties like a fish to water and Lightning Shakes New York began to take off.
Over time Michael was able to develop the many nuances and skills necessary to become of a top entertainment host. Over the course of many seasons of events and thousands of parties (see the highlights) with everyone from celebrities, to noted actors, judges, rabbis, lawyers, doctors, and people of every nationality, color, race and sexuality choice, which span many years Michael would continue to learn and grow and fuse his passion for singing, dancing, improvisation, writing, acting and directing with mastering the art of the engaging people.
Known as one of the most giving people in the industry, his incredible passion, inspiration, compassion, energy flow and entertainment planning has led him to be an industry leading innovator, Master Celebrations Director, producer and MC.
LSNY EVENTS has grown to become a leader in event production entertainment services for discerning, and sophisticated clients who truly want more from their parties. Call today or click on the BE EXTRAORDINARY link below right to schedule a complimentary consultation.
